Class Descriptions:

Intermediate Pilates
Through creating balance, coordination, and flexibility challenges, we begin to test how stable and strong the core really is. We deepen our learning about how the breath initiates movement from the core, and how efficiently the body is connecting to itself through the core. This becomes especially important as we begin the build more upper body strength.

Advanced Pilates
Now that we have mastered the fundamentals of Pilates, we begin to integrate the mat exercises into longer series of movement phrases. This creates more endurance, but also creates a qualitative change in the movement from the bound flow of a beginner to the free flow of a strong, efficient body. We begin to work our core support in verticality (standing rather than lying on the floor) which helps to “connect the dots”, so that all we learn in class is easily translated to how we move our bodies through the rest of our lives.

Pilates on the Ball
This dynamic class takes Pilates mat exercises onto the stability (or Swiss) ball. This changes concentration and mental focus while trying to maintain healthy postural alignment in an unstable environment. Come willing to have fun and be stimulated in new ways!
